Which ticket fits your visit
The Széchenyi price list for 2026 has three entry tickets, each priced by day type. All prices are per person in Hungarian forints and include a locker.
| Ticket | Mon–Thu | Fri–Sun | Holidays and peak season |
|---|---|---|---|
| Good Morning Budapest (enter by 9:00) | 10,500 Ft | 11,800 Ft (Friday only) | – |
| Daily ticket with locker | 13,200 Ft | 14,800 Ft | 15,800 Ft |
| Fast Track with locker (online only) | 15,200 Ft | 16,800 Ft | 17,800 Ft |
How to choose:
- You can be there before 9:00 on a weekday. Take Good Morning Budapest. It saves 2,700 Ft against the Monday–Thursday daily ticket and, according to the bath's FAQ, it is still valid all day. It is sold only on site, Monday to Friday, between 7:00 and 9:00.
- You are flexible on the day. Go Monday to Thursday. The same daily ticket costs 1,600 Ft more on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
- You are visiting at a busy time and hate queues. Fast Track costs 2,000 Ft more than the daily ticket and is sold only online. The FAQ says you use the Spa entrance and show the QR code. Morning Fast Track tickets require entry by 11:00, and afternoon ones are valid from 15:00; you cannot swap slots.
- You hold a Budapest Card. The FAQ gives 20% off the standard daily ticket with locker, on site only. That brings a Monday–Thursday ticket to 10,560 Ft, almost the same as Good Morning Budapest, so the card matters most on Friday to Sunday. Our Budapest Card guide works out whether the card itself pays off.
Locker or cabin
The FAQ describes the locker as small, "enough for a backpack", in a shared changing area. A cabin is a private changing room that holds more, including a suitcase, and stays locked for your whole visit.
The price list shows the cabin as a 1,000 Ft item under services, next to a 1,100 Ft safe. For two or more people, the FAQ recommends one ticket with a cabin and the rest with lockers rather than several cabins, so a couple or family pays the cabin charge once. The page does not spell out how the cabin is combined with the entry ticket, so check the total in the online shop or at the desk before you pay. Losing the proxy watch (wristband) or key costs 3,000 Ft.
For what changing actually looks like, and the sauna towel rule, see our guide to how a Budapest thermal bath works.

What a visit really costs
Nothing to wear or dry with is included in a daily ticket, and the price list says the bath currently has no rental service. Slippers are compulsory and a swim cap is needed only in the lap pool, according to the FAQ. The on-site shop prices are:
- towel 6,900 Ft
- slippers 4,200 Ft
- swimsuit 6,300 Ft
- swim cap 2,100 Ft
- bathrobe 12,600 Ft
Worked example: two adults on a Saturday, sharing a cabin. Two daily tickets at 14,800 Ft plus one 1,000 Ft cabin come to 30,600 Ft. If you also have to buy two towels and two pairs of slippers on site, the total rises to 52,800 Ft. Packing a towel and flip-flops saves 22,200 Ft for two people.
Opening hours, evenings and winter dates
The opening-hours page (checked 30 October 2026) gives:
| Day | Bath | Pools and saunas |
|---|---|---|
| Monday–Thursday | 7:00–20:00 | 7:00–19:40 |
| Friday | 7:00–22:00 | 7:00–21:40 |
| Saturday–Sunday | 8:00–20:00 | 8:00–19:40 |
You must leave the pools 20 minutes before closing. The price list, FAQ and opening-hours page we read give no last-entry time, so allow at least two hours before closing; with a 22:00 close, Friday is the only evening option for a regular visit.
On Saturday nights the bath hosts Sparty, a ticketed party. The FAQ says daytime services are not available during it; the page we read does not give the changeover time, so do not plan a late Saturday soak.
Dates announced for the coming weeks:
- 8 December 2026: open until 16:00.
- 18 December 2026 – 6 January 2027: peak season; the bath opens at 8:00.
- 25 December 2026 and 1 January 2027: open until 20:00.
The page links to separate Christmas hours that we did not check; look there for 24, 26 and 31 December.
The outdoor pools stay warm in winter: the pools page lists the outdoor thermal pool at 36–38 °C, the leisure pool at 32–34 °C and the swimming pool at 26–28 °C.

Booking online and getting in
The FAQ sets out the rules for the online shop:
- Tickets go on sale 180 days ahead.
- Online tickets cannot be changed to another date or slot and are non-refundable once confirmed. They are not personal, so you can pass one on.
- Online tickets have priority when the bath is full.
- Bring the QR code, not just a booking number; you swap it for a wristband at entry.
- Daily tickets use the Bath entrance; Fast Track uses the Spa entrance.
Because prices are identical online and at the desk, booking ahead buys certainty, not savings. Book online for a weekend or the holiday period; on a weekday morning, the Good Morning ticket at the desk is cheaper.
Getting there
The bath is at Állatkerti körút 9–11 in City Park. The bath's directions page points you to the M1 Millennium Underground and trolleybus 72. A single public transport ticket costs 500 Ft and a Budapest 24-hour ticket 2,750 Ft (BKK price list, checked 30 October 2026). Our guide to Budapest public transport tickets explains which one to buy.
If Széchenyi is full or you want a smaller, older bath, our Budapest thermal baths comparison sets it against Rudas and Lukács.
