Kamakura is about an hour from Tokyo Station on the JR Yokosuka Line. Great Buddha ¥300, Hasedera ¥400; Enoden passes ¥800–¥900 or Odakyu's Freepass from Shinjuku.
The Shinjuku–Kawaguchiko highway bus costs ¥2,200 per adult and takes about 1 hour 45 minutes; book up to a month ahead. How it compares with the Fuji Excursion train.
