Which ticket to buy
The Heineken Tour page lists these tickets:
| Ticket | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Heineken Tour | €24.95 | Self-guided route through the 1867 brewery, one beer at the end, about 1.5 hours |
| Tour + Rooftop | €29.95 | Tour plus the rooftop bar and Heineken Studio; two drinks in total |
| Guided Tour | €44.95 | Guided tour plus rooftop and Studio; banner says Fridays and Saturdays |
| VIP Tour | €65 | Behind-the-scenes guided tour, five beers with Dutch bites, about 2.5 hours |
| Rooftop Bar only | €15 | Rooftop and Studio, no tour |
For most visitors the choice is between the first two. The rooftop ticket costs €5 more and adds a second drink plus the bar. The FAQ says rooftop access opens about 90 minutes after your tour entry and you should add 30 to 45 minutes, so the rooftop version turns a 1.5–2 hour visit into roughly 2–2.5 hours. If you are short on time, or not a beer drinker, the basic tour is enough.
For two people the difference is €59.90 for Tour + Rooftop against €49.90 for the basic tour. The VIP Tour, at €130 for two, makes sense only if you want the guided tasting.
The page also shows combination tickets with a canal cruise and other venues. Their prices appear alongside struck-through figures, and the page does not explain which is the current price, so compare in the checkout.
Age rule and ID
This is the rule that most often changes plans. The children and minors page states that you must be 18 or older to enter and that minors accompanied by an adult are not allowed either. A family with a 16-year-old cannot go in together.
The FAQ adds that the alcohol age of 18 is strictly enforced and you may be asked for a valid passport, national ID or driving licence on arrival. Carry one even if you look older.

Booking, entry time and changes
The FAQ strongly recommends booking online and says walk-up tickets are limited. Your entry time is fixed: if you are a few minutes late, tell the staff, and entry depends on availability. One online order takes up to 25 tickets, and no group bookings are taken on Saturdays.
The rescheduling and refund page says Heineken Tour tickets can be rescheduled up to one hour before your tour through the self-service page, using the ticket number (starting with 77) and your booking email. VIP tickets and some combination tickets are changed by email to the ticketing provider. Refunds are not given, even for circumstances beyond your control; the venue says it will try to rebook you instead.
Opening hours and holidays
The service and contact page gives:
- Sunday to Thursday: 10:30–19:30, last entry 17:15.
- Friday and Saturday: 10:30–21:00, last entry 18:45.
- 24 and 31 December: 10:30–16:00, last entry 14:15.
- 26 to 30 December: 10:30–21:00, last entry 18:45.
The FAQ says the Experience is open every day of the year but hours may vary on public holidays. Neither page gives hours for 25 December or 1 January, so check the booking calendar for those dates. On New Year's Eve, the last tour entry is 14:15.
Because the full visit takes 1.5 to 2 hours, a 17:15 entry on a weekday finishes around closing time; with the rooftop, book no later than mid-afternoon. The accessibility guide suggests Sunday to Thursday between 10:30 and 14:00 as the calmer time.
Getting there
The Experience is at Stadhouderskade 78, in the original brewery. The FAQ and contact page list:
- Tram 24: about 20 minutes from Amsterdam Centraal to Marie Heinekenplein, outside the entrance.
- Trams 1, 7 and 19: stop nearby; 7 and 19 at Weteringschans.
- Metro 52: to Vijzelgracht or De Pijp, then about 5 minutes' walk.
- On foot: about 30 minutes from Centraal.
There is no parking of its own. For how to pay on trams and the metro, see our GVB fares guide. Coming straight from the airport, our Schiphol transfer guide covers the train to Centraal.

Bags and accessibility
There is a cloakroom, and free lockers take bags up to 32 × 23 × 49 cm. Larger bags, suitcases and carry-on luggage cannot be stored on site; the FAQ points to the Lockerpoint at Marie Heinekenplein 12. The house rules do not allow rucksacks, large bags or umbrellas into the complex and ask you to leave them at the cloakroom, and bags may be screened.
If your time is sold out
Look at later entry times the same day, especially Friday or Saturday when last entry is 18:45. If you already hold a ticket and plans change, reschedule at least an hour before your slot rather than letting it lapse, because there are no refunds. If the day is full, a canal cruise is another way to fill a late afternoon.
