Kyoto to Nara takes about 35 minutes by Kintetsu limited express or 45 by JR rapid. Kintetsu-Nara is 8 minutes' walk from Nara Park; Todai-ji's Great Buddha Hall is ¥800.
Nara deer crackers cost ¥200 for 10 (2024 price). Feed the deer nothing else, hand them over one at a time, and keep away from bucks in Sept–Nov and mothers in May–July.
