Sant Pau ticket prices

The former Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau is run as a visitor site called the Sant Pau Recinte Modernista. Its practical information page gives these individual rates (checked 12 October 2026):

Visitor Self-guided, until 2 pm Self-guided, after 2 pm Guided tour
General rate €18 €17 €21
Reduced rate €12.60 €11.90 €14.70
Child Free under 12 Free under 12 €5, ages 3–11

The reduced rate covers young people aged 12 to 24, people over 65, Barcelona residents, people with a disability rating under 65% or dependency level 1 or 2, large-family and single-parent card holders, and Targeta Rosa Reduïda holders. Bring proof of age or status.

The audio guide costs €4 on top of a self-guided ticket. The site's audio guide page lists it in Catalan, Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Dutch, Chinese and Japanese, and puts the visit at 60 to 90 minutes. It also says children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Who enters free

The rates page lists free visits, which you have to collect at the box office rather than online:

  • Children under 12 accompanied by an adult
  • People with a disability of 65% or more, or dependency level 3, plus one companion
  • Holders of the Targeta Rosa Gratuïta
  • Unemployed people with proof issued in Spain (self-guided visit only)
  • ICOMOS members
  • Over-65s on the first Sunday of the month (the Catalan page says individual visitors only; organised groups contact the site)

The child rate needs a little care. The free list says under-12s enter free, while the guided tour line prices children at €5, which the Catalan version words as "menors de 3 a 11 anys". Read it as free entry for a self-guided visit and €5 for ages 3 to 11 on a guided tour. The page does not say whether a child under 3 pays on a guided tour; ask at the box office if that matters to you.

What a family pays

For two adults, a 14-year-old and a 9-year-old, using the rates checked on 12 October 2026:

Option Calculation Total
Self-guided, entering before 2 pm €18 + €18 + €12.60 + free €48.60
Self-guided, entering after 2 pm €17 + €17 + €11.90 + free €45.90
Guided tour €21 + €21 + €14.70 + €5 €61.70

Add €4 for each audio guide you rent on a self-guided visit. With two audio guides, the morning self-guided visit comes to €56.60, still €5.10 less than the guided tour. The 9-year-old's free self-guided entry comes from the box office, so allow a few minutes there even if you bought the adult tickets online.

Opening hours, last access and closed days

According to the practical information page (checked 12 October 2026), the self-guided visit is open every day:

  • April to October: 9:30 to 18:30, last access 18:00
  • November to March: 9:30 to 17:00, last access 16:30
  • Closed on 25 December

The site says the route may change depending on which spaces are available, so some rooms can be shut on the day you go.

Guided tour times by language

Scheduled guided tours run only at weekends and on holidays (checked 12 October 2026):

Language When
English Saturday 10:30
French Saturday 12:00
Spanish Weekends and holidays 11:00
Catalan Weekends and holidays 12:30

Tours in other languages are available on request. There is no scheduled English tour on Sundays or on weekdays, so a weekday visitor who wants commentary in English without arranging a tour uses the audio guide.

Guided or self-guided: which to choose

Choose the self-guided visit if you are visiting on a weekday, travelling with children under 12 (they enter free), or want to set your own pace. Entering after 2 pm saves €1 per adult, and a late-afternoon slot fits well after a morning at the Sagrada Família. For an adult, a self-guided ticket plus the €4 audio guide costs €21 to €22, about the same as the €21 guided tour, so the real choice is about timing and language rather than price. The audio guide also comes in German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Chinese and Japanese, which the scheduled tours do not.

Choose the guided tour if you are free on a Saturday morning and want an English-speaking guide, or a Spanish, Catalan or French tour on the days listed above. For a family, the guided tour costs more mainly because children 3 to 11 pay €5 instead of entering free.

Booking, bags and getting there

The practical information page links to an online ticket shop, but does not compare online and box office prices or say how long a ticket stays valid. Book online if you want the general or reduced ticket settled before you arrive, and collect any free tickets at the box office.

The entrance is at Carrer de Sant Antoni Maria Claret 167, 08025 Barcelona. The nearest metro station is Sant Pau | Dos de Maig, which the site describes as 2 minutes from the Sagrada Família. Sant Pau's page labels the line as L5 in its directions and as L4 in another line, so check the line on the TMB map or app before you ride. Buses H8, 19, 47, 117 and 192 also stop nearby.

If you are pairing the two sites, our guide to Sagrada Família booking and what is finished covers the basilica's timed tickets. For the metro or bus ride, the T-casual and Barcelona fare zones explains which ticket to buy. If you are adding more modernista buildings, see La Pedrera tickets and the Palau de la Música guided tour.
