Which ticket fits your visit
TAIPEI 101 publishes four main ways up. The prices below are from its observatory fare page and the official online ticket shop, checked 8 October 2026.
| Ticket | Adult price | Floors | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| General (Main Deck) | NT$600 | 89F indoor, 88F damper, 91F outdoor if open | Most first visits |
| Top Deck (89F + 101F) | NT$980 | Main Deck plus the 101F garden | Clear days, the 101F garden |
| Express Pass | NT$1,200 | 89F and 88F, separate fast lane | Short on time or a busy holiday |
| Skyline460 | NT$3,000 | Outdoor 101F, then 89F and 88F | A guided, harnessed outdoor walk |
The general ticket is the standard choice. The 89th floor sits at 382 m, the Main Deck ticket page lists telescopes, a photo service and a post box there, and on the way down you pass the 88th-floor wind damper, which TAIPEI 101 describes as 5.5 m wide and 660 tonnes.
The 91st-floor outdoor deck is not guaranteed. TAIPEI 101 says it opens irregularly depending on the weather and without separate notice, so do not choose a day based on it.
What the extras add
101st floor. The fare page adds NT$380 per person for the 101st floor, and the online Top Deck ticket bundles it with the Main Deck for NT$980. The floor is an indoor fern and orchid garden. Its own hours are shorter: open 11:00 to 20:00 with last entry at 19:00, in one-hour sessions; report to the 89F service counter 10 minutes before yours. It can also be closed for private events, in which case TAIPEI 101 says it will contact you.
Express Pass. The Express Pass costs twice the general ticket and buys a separate queue, not extra floors: you exchange it at the 1F fast-pass counter, ride up in the fast lane, and show the ticket at the 88F fast lane for the trip down. It covers 88F and 89F only. The ride itself takes about 37 seconds to the 89th floor, so the pass only pays off when the queue is long.
Skyline460. This is an outdoor walk at the top of the tower in safety equipment. The Skyline460 page lists sessions at 14:00 and 15:00, about 50 minutes each, and moves a 14:00 session to 15:00 if fewer than 7 people book. Participants must be 12 to 75 years old, weigh 30 to 120 kg and be at least 145 cm tall; wear trousers and flat shoes. TAIPEI 101 does not recommend it for people with high blood pressure, heart disease, agoraphobia, asthma, epilepsy or during pregnancy. The price includes a printed photo, a souvenir, a drink and entry to 89F and 88F afterwards.
What a group pays
TAIPEI 101's concession ticket (NT$540, for students, children over 115 cm and people with special needs) and senior and child tickets are sold only at the 1F counter, and the fare page requires a valid Taiwan ID at purchase. In practice a foreign family pays the adult price for everyone over 115 cm.
| Party | General ticket | With 101st floor |
|---|---|---|
| 1 adult | NT$600 | NT$980 |
| 2 adults | NT$1,200 | NT$1,960 |
| 2 adults + child over 115 cm (foreign passports) | NT$1,800 | NT$2,940 |
The fare page says children under 115 cm enter free with a parent. The online ticket pages word the same rule as applying to Taiwanese preschoolers under 115 cm, so if you are travelling with a small child on a foreign passport, confirm at the counter before you rely on it. The NT$380 101st-floor charge is listed per person.
How to book and enter
If you arrive more than 30 minutes late, the Main Deck page says to swap the voucher for a physical ticket at the counter. To go up earlier than booked, ask at the 1F online reservation counter, which reschedules if there is space.
Online tickets can be refunded in full on the original ticket page until closing time on the booked date, provided the ticket has not been used or validated (policy shown on each ticket page, checked 8 October 2026). That makes it reasonable to book a clear-looking day a few days ahead and cancel if the forecast turns.
What time to go
The observatory page lists 10:00 to 21:00 every day, including weekends and national holidays, and the online ticket pages give the final admission as 20:15. TAIPEI 101 says it announces changes for special or consecutive holidays separately; its Top Deck page shows one such date, 3 June 2026, when general admission closed at 17:00.
Work back from those limits:
- Want the 101st floor? Enter by 19:00, its last entry. Booking it with an afternoon slot leaves time for both floors.
- Doing Skyline460? Your time is fixed at 14:00 or 15:00, and you must check in at the 1F counter 30 minutes before.
- Only the general ticket? Any slot up to 20:15 works. Booking a slot shortly before dusk gives you both daylight and night views from one ticket.
Visibility decides the value. Low cloud can hide the city entirely, and the 91F outdoor deck and Skyline460 depend on wind and weather. Skyline460 is cancelled with at least one hour's notice when the weather is unsuitable and can then be refunded in full.
Getting there and nearby
For the metro ride there, EasyCard vs iPASS explains whether a transit card is worth buying, and Cash or Card in Taipei covers the rest of the day's spending. The ordering notice of TAIPEI 101's online Ticket&Gift shop says invoices for purchases made there cannot be used for a tax refund; for shopping elsewhere in the building see the Taiwan tax refund rules. For a second high viewpoint, the Maokong Gondola climbs the hills south of the city.
