The route in three legs
| Leg | Time | Pay with |
|---|---|---|
| London Euston → Watford Junction | about 20 minutes on a direct train | Rail ticket, Oyster or contactless |
| Watford Junction → Studio Tour | about 15 minutes; a bus at least every 30 minutes | Included in your Studio Tour ticket |
| Security and entry | arrive 20 minutes before your slot | Booking confirmation |
The Studio Tour's Getting Here page gives the direct Euston to Watford Junction journey as 20 minutes. It also warns that other, non-direct trains from Euston take longer, so check that your train runs direct before boarding (checked 9 October 2026).
Paying for the train
The Studio Tour says Oyster cards are valid between London Euston and Watford Junction. National Rail's Watford Junction station page lists both Oyster and contactless pay as you go as accepted there (checked 9 October 2026). That means you can tap in at Euston and tap out at Watford Junction with the same card or phone, without buying a paper ticket.
National Rail's contactless guide explains the two habits that avoid an overcharge: touch in and out with the same card or device, and never touch two cards on the reader at once. A journey with no touch-out can cost a maximum fare of up to £30.40. Many cards issued outside the UK work, though your bank may add an overseas fee. For how capping and card choice work around London, see Tube and bus fares on a bank card.
This page does not quote the Euston to Watford Junction fare, because pay as you go charges the fare for the time you travel.
The shuttle bus from Watford Junction
The Studio Tour runs electric shuttle buses from Watford Junction, and the Getting Here page says the journey is included in your entry ticket. Buses run at least every 30 minutes from 9.20am, with extra services from 8.15am on days when the first tour is at 9am. The last return bus leaves the Studio Tour when it closes, and a live bus tracker is linked from the same page.
The security page says security staff are at Watford Junction to help visitors find the shuttle, and the Getting Here page adds that e-scooters are not allowed on the bus or on site.
Tickets: book ahead, there is no door sale
The ticket information FAQ says the Studio Tour limits visitor numbers, sells only timed slots in advance, and does not hold back tickets for sale on the day or by phone. Tickets are on sale until 31 December 2027 (checked 9 October 2026).
Standard Studio Tour prices on the tickets page:
| Ticket | 2026 | 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| Adult (16+) | £58.50 | £61 |
| Child (5–15) | £47 | £48 |
| Family (2 adults + 2 children, or 1 adult + 3 children) | £188 | £192 |
| Child 4 and under | Free | Free |
A family of two adults and two children saves £23 with the family ticket in 2026 (£188 against £211 for four single tickets). A free essential companion ticket is available for visitors who need one; see the Studio Tour's accessibility pages for the conditions.
Tickets are non-refundable. A date change costs £10, depends on availability and must be made before the visit date. The payment FAQ lists Visa, Visa Debit, Mastercard and American Express, says only pounds sterling are accepted on site, and notes a free cash machine in the lobby.
Opening times in October 2026

Working back from your time slot
For a 13:00 slot, the timings above give this plan:
You can enter at any point during your 30-minute slot. If a delay means you will miss it entirely, the FAQ asks you to contact Visitor Services. With a 3.5-hour average visit, a 13:00 slot finishes around 16:30, well before closing in October.
Coach packages instead of the train
The Studio Tour names Golden Tours as its preferred partner for return coach transfers from central London, sold as a package with Studio Tour tickets from £94 or as transfer-only for people who already hold tickets. It suits a group that would rather not change trains and buses; compare the package price with your own train fare plus a standard ticket.
