Self-guided visit prices

The Palais Garnier visits page lists separate prices for visitors from outside the EEA and for France/EEA visitors (checked 12 October 2026). The self-guided visit takes about 1h30.

Visitor Outside the EEA France and EEA
Adult €25 €15
Age 13–25 €20 €10
Age 12 and under Free Free
Disabled visitor and companion Free Free

Every rate except the non-EEA adult rate needs proof of eligibility and ID on the day. Free tickets booked online are collected at the ticket office on the day of the visit. Other free categories include jobseekers in France and holders of a professional tour-guide card, who request access by email.

What a family pays for a self-guided visit:

  • Two adults from outside Europe with children aged 15 and 10: €70
  • The same family as EEA residents: €40

Guided tours compared

The visits page and the guided tours page list these tours, booked through the Opéra's guided-tour partner Manatour:

Same tour, reduced rate €28 €18 1h30
Flash guided tour, adult €25 €15 45 min

The reduced rate covers under-25s, students, over-65s, jobseekers and disabled visitors. The guided tours page also lists €11 for under-12s and free entry for children under 4 and for a disabled visitor's companion. Neither page lists tour languages or start times; they appear when you book.

For the non-EEA family above, a guided tour costs €109 (two adults at €35, the 15-year-old at €28 and the 10-year-old at €11), against €70 self-guided.

Hours and closures

The Palais Garnier arrival page gives visiting hours as every day from 10:00 to 17:00, or until 18:00 during summer time, with last sales one hour before closing and visiting areas cleared 15 minutes before the theatre closes. Visits do not run during daytime performances or on occasional closure days, which the Opéra lists in a calendar linked from the page.

Booking, entrance and bags

  • Booking: online only, for dates up to 30 days ahead. Pick a date, then a time slot; you may enter up to 30 minutes after your slot.
  • Entrance: corner of rue Scribe and rue Auber, 75009 Paris.
  • Metro and RER: Opéra (lines 3, 7 and 8), Chaussée d'Antin (lines 7 and 9), Madeleine (lines 8 and 14), and RER A at Auber.
  • Bags: the Opéra lists luggage and travel bags among items not allowed in its auditoriums and cloakrooms, and the cloakrooms are closed during visiting hours. There is a security check with bag search.

Non-EEA pricing also applies at other Paris landmarks. Our guides to Louvre tickets and Sainte-Chapelle time slots set out their rates, while the Musée d'Orsay charges everyone the same price.
