Price and opening hours

The Ministry of Culture, which runs the museum through the Galleria dell'Accademia and Musei del Bargello institute, raised the Bargello ticket from €10 to €12 on 1 February 2026 (announcement published 11 March 2026). The Bargello's own page shows €12, with an optional €4 reservation, and says reduced and free admissions follow current regulations without listing them.

Since 15 March 2026 all museums in the group open Tuesday to Sunday, 8:15–18:50, and close on Mondays. At the Bargello, last admission is 50 minutes before closing, so arrive by about 18:00.

Single ticket or combined ticket?

Two group tickets have been on sale since 15 March 2026. The Ministry describes the €26 ticket, valid 48 hours, as covering the Accademia and the Bargello. The €38 ticket, valid 72 hours, covers the group's museums over three consecutive days: the Accademia, the Bargello, the Medici Chapels, Orsanmichele and Palazzo Davanzati. The 72-hour ticket page adds a €3 reservation fee and sends buyers to the B-ticket webshop or the phone line, +39 055 294883.

Here is what each plan costs against single full-price tickets. The Ministry's announcement gives the Accademia at €20, the Medici Chapels at €11 (matching the Medici Chapels page) and Palazzo Davanzati at €8; the Davanzati page itself shows €12, so the table gives both.

Your plan Single tickets Group ticket Choose
Bargello only €12 — Single
Bargello + Accademia €32 €26 (48 h) 48-hour ticket, saves €6
Bargello + Medici Chapels €23 €38 (72 h) + €3 Singles
Bargello + Accademia + Medici Chapels €43 €38 (72 h) + €3 72-hour ticket, saves €2 with the booking fee
Those three + Palazzo Davanzati €51–55 €38 (72 h) + €3 72-hour ticket, saves €10–14

Single-ticket booking at €4 each is optional, so the comparison leaves it out. The 72-hour ticket only pays off if David is on your list: without the Accademia, the Bargello, Medici Chapels and Davanzati come to €31–35 as singles, less than the €41 group ticket with its booking fee.

The 72-hour page also lists Casa Martelli, but the Ministry's announcement says Casa Martelli is closed for works, so do not count on it. Orsanmichele's own page gives different hours from the group's standard ones, 8:30–18:30 Tuesday to Sunday, and Palazzo Davanzati closes to visitors on Sundays from 12:20 to 13:30 for a religious service.

Florence Airport

Free first Sundays

Under the Ministry's #domenicalmuseo scheme, state museums are free on the first Sunday of every month, during normal hours. The Ministry's event page for Florence listed the Bargello with the Accademia, the Medici Chapels and Palazzo Davanzati for Sunday 1 November 2026, and said reservations are not possible.

By the same rule the next free days fall on 6 December 2026 and 3 January 2027, but the Ministry had not yet published those editions when we checked. Expect a queue and no booked entry. If you can only visit on a Sunday, the free day saves €12 per adult; if your days are flexible, a weekday with an optional €4 booking is the more predictable visit.

The Medici Chapels and Palazzo Davanzati pages also list 25 April, 2 June and 4 November as free days. The Bargello's page does not, so check before relying on 4 November there.

Bags and access

The free cloakroom is in front of the ticket office. Umbrellas, large backpacks and bulky bags must be left there, and suitcases are refused outright. Entry from Via del Proconsolo 4 is step-free, with ramps and a lift.

The Bargello pairs naturally with Palazzo Vecchio, a few minutes' walk away, and with the Medici Chapels and Michelangelo's Secret Room on the group ticket.
