How booking works

The reservation page sets the rules for individual visitors:

  • Bookings open 120 days ahead, first come, first served, and close the day before your visit.
  • Same-day tickets are not sold when every slot is taken, so treat the booking as compulsory.
  • You pay by credit card when you book; the booking is complete only once payment goes through.
  • One booking covers up to 19 people. Groups of 20 or more book by phone instead.
  • After payment there are no cancellations, refunds or changes in the number of people. You can move the date or time once, up to 12:00 the day before.
  • A QR code arrives by email. Show it at the park gate, then at the tower reception 20 minutes before your slot.

Prices: set ticket or tower only

The tower stands inside Expo '70 Commemorative Park, and you need park entry as well. The tower fee page and the park fee page give these prices:

Ticket Adult (high school+) Child (elementary–junior high)
Set ticket: tower + park (Natural Cultural Gardens and Japanese Garden) ¥1,080 ¥310
Tower only ¥720 ¥310
Park only, from 1 April 2026 ¥450 Free

Buying separately costs an adult ¥720 + ¥450 = ¥1,170, so the set ticket saves ¥90. Children enter the park free, so a child pays ¥310 either way. Children below elementary school age are not priced on the fee page; ask when booking. Visitors with a disability certificate, plus one carer, enter the tower free with proof.

Opening hours and the Wednesday closure

The tower's hours page gives 10:00–17:00 for November 2026, with no closing days that month, and warns that hours can change. The page shows one month at a time.

The park itself, per its hours page, opens 9:30–17:00, with last entry 30 minutes before closing. It closes:

  • every Wednesday (the next weekday when Wednesday is a public holiday),
  • over the year-end and New Year period (dates not listed),
  • except from 1 April to 2 May and throughout October and November, when there is no weekly closure.

So a visit in November 2026 works any day of the week. From December, avoid Wednesdays and check the tower's December hours once they are posted before you pay.

Osaka, Japan

Inside the tower

The visitor rules describe a visit of about 30 minutes. You climb 145 steps over five staircases, through six floors of the Tree of Life up to 30 metres, and come down by a separate staircase.

  • Elevator: wheelchair users and children under 4 must use it; anyone else who has trouble walking may. It stops only at three floors.
  • Strollers: not allowed inside; there is a parking spot next to reception, at your own risk.
  • Luggage: the tower has no lockers. Large, medium and small coin lockers are near the park entrance gates; store suitcases there first.
  • Children: junior high age and younger must be with a guardian.

Getting there by Osaka Monorail

The park access page recommends Osaka Monorail's Banpaku-kinen-koen station, about 5 minutes on foot from the Central Gate (Koen-higashiguchi station is about 5 minutes from the East Gate). Routes it gives:

Starting from Route
Osaka (Itami) Airport Monorail direct from Osaka-Airport to Banpaku-kinen-koen
Shin-Osaka Midosuji Line / Kita-Osaka Kyuko to Senri-Chuo, then monorail
Hankyu lines Change to the monorail at Hotarugaike, Yamada or Minami-Ibaraki
Kansai Airport Nankai to Namba, Midosuji Line / Kita-Osaka Kyuko to Senri-Chuo, then monorail

Osaka Monorail's fare page for Osaka-Airport station lists ¥380 to Banpaku-kinen-koen, without a date or child fare, so treat it as a guide. That makes the park an easy stop on an Itami arrival or departure day, provided you leave bags in the park-gate lockers.

Does the Osaka Amazing Pass help?

Only partly. The standard pass does not list the park. The Osaka Itami Airport version of the Amazing Pass (¥3,800 for 1 day, ¥5,400 for 2 days, same price for children) adds the Osaka Monorail, and its facility list includes free park admission, except on 14–16 August and 31 October–1 November. The tower interior is not on the list, so you would still buy the tower-only ticket at ¥720. Weigh that against the ¥1,080 set ticket and your monorail fares; our Amazing Pass guide explains the pass in full.
