Prices and versions
The operator's how-to-buy page lists three versions, all checked on 30 October 2026:
| Version | Price | Validity | Sales period |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard 1-day | ¥3,500 | One day, by 31 March 2027 | 25 Mar 2026 – 31 Mar 2027 |
| Standard 2-day | ¥5,000 | Two consecutive days, by 1 April 2027 | 25 Mar 2026 – 31 Mar 2027 |
| Itami Airport (ITM) 1-day / 2-day | ¥3,800 / ¥5,400 | As standard, plus airport lines | 25 Mar 2026 – 31 Mar 2027 |
| Kansai Airport (KIX) 28-hour | ¥5,300 | 28 hours from first use | 1 Oct 2026 – 31 Mar 2027 |
There is no child price. The FAQ says passes for children are not sold and children use an adult pass. That matters for families, as shown below.
A pass must be activated within three months of purchase and no later than 31 March 2027. For digital tickets a "day" runs from 03:00 to 02:59 the next morning, so a late-night ride after midnight still counts as the same day.
What the transport part covers
The standard pass covers Osaka Metro, Osaka City Bus (some routes excluded), the New Tram, and Hankyu, Hanshin, Keihan, Kintetsu and Nankai trains "mainly running in Osaka City". JR lines are not part of it: the operator's lines page says lines not shown there cannot be used, so the JR Loop Line and JR trains to Universal Studios Japan are not covered. Osaka Metro's own page for the pass describes the same coverage and notes that some restrictions apply on the private railways.
The ITM version adds the Osaka Monorail between Osaka Airport and Banpaku-kinen-koen and the Kita-Osaka Kyuko between Esaka and Senri-Chuo. It is not valid at Kansai Airport.
If you ride beyond the covered area, the FAQ says to buy a ticket to the boundary station and show both that ticket and the pass to the attendant at your exit station. That rule is what makes the pass useless as a ticket to Kyoto or Nara; see our Osaka to Kyoto train guide for the fares on those lines.

The attractions worth counting
The participating-attractions page lists each place with its regular price. You can enter each facility once on the day of use; with the 2-day pass, once per facility across both days. These are the entries that move the maths most:
| Attraction | Regular price listed | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| Umeda Sky Building Kuchu Teien Observatory | ¥2,000 adult, ¥500 child | Free only until 15:00; 10% off after |
| Tombori River Cruise (Dotonbori) | ¥2,000 adult | Exchange for a time slot at reception on the day |
| Osaka Castle Museum (Main Tower) | ¥1,200 | Includes the Main Tower |
| Tsutenkaku Tower observation deck | ¥1,500 | Time slot booked at the tower |
| Osaka Suijo Bus Aqua-Liner | ¥2,000 adult | Reserved seating |
| Osaka-jo Gozabune Boat | ¥1,800 | Closed 28 Dec – 3 Jan |
| Santa Maria Day Cruise (bay) | ¥1,800 adult | Closed 31 Dec and 12 Jan – 5 Feb |
| Captain Line (Kaiyukan–USJ boat) | ¥1,700 round trip | Suspended when USJ and Kaiyukan are closed |
| Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel | ¥1,000 | Closed with Tempozan Marketplace |
| Shitennoji Temple | ¥800 total | Garden closed on set days |
The ¥1,200 Osaka Castle figure matches the Osaka tourism bureau's castle page, which also says junior high school students and younger enter free. Prices for the other places are as listed by the pass operator; check the venue if one decides your purchase. Our Osaka Castle guide and Tsutenkaku tower guide cover those visits in detail.
Some entries do not help in November to January. The list shows the Osaka Museum of Housing and Living closed from 1 September 2026 to 5 January 2027, the Okawa River Sakura Cruise running only from 24 March to 12 April, and the Osaka Wheel at Expo'70 Park (ITM version) closed for maintenance with no reopening date. Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan is not a participating attraction; only the Captain Line boat that stops there is.
Break-even: when the pass pays off
The fair comparison is not "pass versus nothing" but "pass versus a day ticket plus paid entries". Osaka Metro's Enjoy Eco Card costs ¥820 for an adult on weekdays and ¥620 on weekends and holidays, with unlimited Osaka Metro and City Bus rides. So the free entries you actually use need to be worth more than:
- about ¥2,680 on a weekday 1-day pass (¥3,500 − ¥820);
- about ¥2,880 on a weekend 1-day pass (¥3,500 − ¥620);
- about ¥3,360 across a weekday 2-day pass (¥5,000 − 2 × ¥820).
That rule assumes you would otherwise buy an Enjoy Eco Card. If you would walk most of the day, compare the pass with entry prices alone.
Worked example: a classic weekday
A morning at Osaka Castle (¥1,200), the Umeda Sky Building before 15:00 (¥2,000) and a Tombori River Cruise in the evening (¥2,000) add up to ¥5,200 in entries, plus ¥820 for a metro day ticket: ¥6,020 without the pass. The pass at ¥3,500 saves ¥2,520.
Drop the Umeda Sky Building and you still spend ¥4,020 without the pass, a saving of ¥520. Visit only the castle and the pass loses: ¥2,020 against ¥3,500.
Worked example: a bay-area second day
On a 2-day pass, a bay day with the Captain Line (¥1,700), the Santa Maria Day Cruise (¥1,800) and the Tempozan Ferris Wheel (¥1,000) is worth ¥4,500 in entries on its own. Pair it with the castle-and-cruise day above and the 2-day pass clearly pays off. Check the Santa Maria's winter break (12 January to 5 February) before you plan this.
Children usually lose
Because children pay the same ¥3,500, the pass rarely works for them. A child's Enjoy Eco Card is ¥310, the Osaka Castle Museum is free for junior high school students and younger, and the Umeda Sky Building lists a ¥500 child price. Buy adult passes for adults and pay as you go for young children.

How to buy and use it
The FAQ also mentions counter sales at the Kansai Tourist Information Center only. Everywhere else, buying means the app. The information page warns that the service may pause for maintenance without refunds and that details may change without notice, so check the app on the day.
Who should buy it, and who should not
Buy the 1-day pass if you will see at least two of the bigger paid sights (Umeda Sky Building before 15:00, a river or bay cruise, Tsutenkaku, the castle) and ride the metro several times. Buy the 2-day pass if you can fill a second day with the bay-area cruises or Shinsekai and Tennoji sights.
Skip it if your Osaka days are about shopping, food streets and one sight, if you are travelling with young children, or if your main trips are to Universal Studios Japan, Kyoto or Nara, none of which it covers. For metro-only days, the Enjoy Eco Card or single fares are cheaper; our Osaka Metro fares guide compares them.
