What each ticket covers
The museum's admission pages for the main building, the Natural History Branch, the Nanmen Branch and Railway Department Park give these prices in New Taiwan dollars:
| Ticket | Regular | Discount |
|---|---|---|
| Main building + Natural History Branch (combined) | NT$30 | NT$15 |
| Railway Department Park | NT$100 | NT$50 |
| Nanmen Branch exhibition hall | NT$20 | NT$10 |
| Four-branch combo (all of the above) | NT$130 | NT$65 |
The main building and the Natural History Branch are not sold separately; the pages list only the combined ticket. The Natural History Branch's getting-here page, whose map is labelled Taiwan Land Bank Exhibition Hall, places it about 75 metres across from the main building.
Is the four-branch combo worth it?
Work it out from the single prices. Railway Department Park (NT$100) plus the main building ticket (NT$30) already costs NT$130, the same as the combo. Adding Nanmen on single tickets (NT$20) brings the total to NT$150.
| Your plan | Single tickets | Combo | Better choice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main building + Natural History only | NT$30 | NT$130 | Single |
| Railway Department Park only | NT$100 | NT$130 | Single |
| Railway Park + main building | NT$130 | NT$130 | Combo (Nanmen is then free) |
| All four sites | NT$150 | NT$130 | Combo, saves NT$20 |
The discount prices follow the same pattern at half the cost.
Discounts and free entry
The same rules apply at every site. Bring ID, because discount and free visitors must show it before entry.
- Half price: students, children aged 6 to 12, visitors aged 65 and over on holidays, and public groups of 20 or more (booked online a week ahead).
- Free: children under 6, visitors aged 65 and over on weekdays, visitors with disabilities and one companion, Taiwan Museum Association, ICOM and AAM members, and holders of a Taiwanese Volunteer Service Honor Card.
The 65-and-over rule is the one to plan around: an older traveller pays nothing on a weekday but half price on a weekend or holiday.
All sites accept EasyCard, credit cards and TaiwanPay. If you are deciding which transit card to carry, our EasyCard or iPASS guide compares them.

Opening hours, closures and tours
Every site opens 9:30–17:00 from Tuesday to Sunday, and the ticket booth closes at 16:30. The museum closes on Mondays, Lunar New Year's Eve and the first day of Lunar New Year, but opens on national and consecutive holidays.
The museum's English home page lists English guided tours at the main building on Sundays, 14:00–14:30 and 15:00–15:30. The Nanmen Branch runs Mandarin tours at 10:30 and 14:30. An audio guide for visually impaired visitors is available at the Land Bank Exhibition Hall.
