Which Globe tour to book
The Globe's season listing has several tours this winter. Two matter for most visitors:
| Tour | Dates | Length | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Globe Theatre Guided Tour | Daily, 25 Oct 2026 – 31 Jan 2027 | About 1 h 30 min | Adult £31, under 16 £14 |
| Premium Globe Guided Tour | 7 Nov – 31 Jan | 2 hours | £68 |
The standard tour is a 50-minute guided visit of the theatre followed by the self-guided exhibition of costumes and props. It is delivered in English, with information sheets in several other languages. If something is happening on stage, photography and parts of the route can be restricted; the Box Office tells you on the day.
Pay the extra for the Premium tour only if standing on the Globe stage is the point. It goes in through the stage door and the tiring house and out onto the stage, which the Globe calls the only chance to do so.
Weather, stairs and bags
The Globe is open-air and tours go ahead in all weather, so dress for the conditions. The route climbs four or eight flights of stairs in an external stair tower; a lift to the upper levels runs "subject to operations", so mention access needs when booking.
The security page sets a maximum bag size of 40 x 35 x 19 cm and bans glass, and the Globe does not store luggage. Drop large bags at a luggage store before you come.
How £5 standing tickets work
Standing in the open Yard, as groundlings did, is the cheapest way to see a Globe show. The best-known route is the £5 Rush:
- Every Friday at 11:00, a limited number of £5 Yard standing tickets go on sale for the following week's Globe Theatre performances.
- They are sold online only, first come first served, through a queue that gives you a random number. Join before 11:00.
- They are not available for Sam Wanamaker Playhouse shows, tours or other events, and they are non-transferable.
- You must be able to stand for the whole performance. If you cannot, call the Box Office on 020 7401 9919 before the release.

Winter season: Playhouse and Pinocchio
From November the Globe's programme moves mostly indoors to the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, with one open-air show in the Globe itself. The winter 2026 brochure lists:
| Show | Venue | Dates | Seats | Standing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Julius Caesar | Sam Wanamaker Playhouse | 6 Nov 2026 – 14 Feb 2027 | £25–£85 | £10 / £5 |
| The Animals Come to the Table | Sam Wanamaker Playhouse | 11 Dec 2026 – 24 Jan 2027 | £25–£85 | £10 / £5 |
| The Seagull | Sam Wanamaker Playhouse | 15 Jan – 10 Apr 2027 | £25–£85 | £10 / £5 |
| King John | Sam Wanamaker Playhouse | 20 Feb – 11 Apr 2027 | £25–£85 | £10 / £5 |
| Pinocchio | Globe Theatre (open-air) | 28 Nov 2026 – 3 Jan 2027 | £25–£75 | £10 / £5 Yard |
The cheapest seats (£25, £35 and £45 in the Playhouse; £25, £30 and £40 at the Globe) have a restricted view. In the Playhouse, standing is a small number of restricted-view places in the Upper Gallery, very different from the Globe's open Yard. The brochure does not say which standing places sell at £5 rather than £10, so check the seat map when booking.
Online and phone bookings carry a £3 transaction fee. The Box Office phone line opens 11:00–18:00, and you can also buy in person at 21 New Globe Walk. Under-16s get half-price seats for Globe Theatre performances.
