Prague Zoo ticket prices

The admission prices page gives one price list for the whole year. There is no separate high- or low-season rate; buying an e-ticket is the main saving.

Ticket Ticket office E-ticket
Adult 330 CZK 300 CZK
Child 3–15 250 CZK 200 CZK
Student with valid ID 250 CZK 200 CZK
Retiree, ZTP or ZTP/P card holder 150 CZK 150 CZK
Family (2 adults + up to 4 children 3–15) 1,000 CZK 850 CZK
Dog 150 CZK 150 CZK
Under 3 Free —

Retirees aged 70 and over pay a symbolic 1 CZK at the ticket office with ID showing their date of birth. Each extra child beyond four on a family ticket pays full price.

For two adults and two children, the family e-ticket (850 CZK) beats four single e-tickets (1,000 CZK). For one adult and one child it does not, so buy singles.

Discounts and payment

  • Groups of 10 or more: 10% off day tickets.
  • Lítačka or Opencard holders: 5% off, with a valid card or proof of a current top-up.
  • Summer evenings: 100 CZK after 17:00 from 1 July to 31 August, at the ticket offices only.

All ticket offices accept payment cards. A one-day ticket is valid for one entry: leave the grounds and the ticket ends. The page does not mention the Prague Visitor Pass, so do not count on it here.

Opening hours by month

The opening time page lists no closed days. The zoo opens at 9:00 all year, and the closing time changes with the season:

Months Zoo closes Last entry, weekdays (main entrance)
November – February 16:00 15:30
March 17:00 16:30
April – May 18:00 17:30
June – August 19:00 18:30 (main entrance 19:00 in July–August)
September 18:00 17:30
October (1–24) 17:00 16:30

From 25 October 2026, with the clock change, the zoo closes at 16:00.

Christmas and other limits

On 24 December, the zoo stays open until 16:00, but ticket offices, entrances, pavilions, attractions, shops and restaurants close at 14:00. The page gives no special hours for 31 December or 1 January.

Two smaller points: the fur seal exhibit closes every Friday for pool cleaning (Thursday if Friday is a public holiday), and the children's tram is temporarily out of service. In July and August, ticket offices, pavilions, shops and restaurants close by 19:00, though visitors may stay in the grounds until 21:00.

Getting to Prague Zoo

The zoo is at U Trojského zámku 120/3 in Troja, north of the centre across the Vltava. The zoo's directions page lists the options below.

Which PID ticket covers the metro-plus-bus trip, and what it costs, is in our Prague public transport guide. Neither the zoo nor PID gives a journey time for bus 112.

Other routes

  • Buses 234, 235 and 236 also serve the zoo; the zoo lists 234 from Nádraží Holešovice and the Podhoří ferry stop, and 235 and 236 from Podhoří and Bohnice.
  • Ferry: a passenger ferry crosses the river daily between Podbaba and Podhoří, about 1.5 km on foot from the zoo.
  • Bicycle: free bike parking at the main and south entrances.

The boat to the zoo

The Prague Steamboat Company's zoo cruise ran from 28 March to 18 October in 2026. Boats left Rašínovo nábřeží (pier 2, between Jirásek and Palacký bridges) at 9:00, 12:00 and 15:30, took 75 minutes, and landed at the Emperor's Island pier by Troja Bridge. The zoo's steamboat page puts that landing about 1.1 km from the main entrance.

The operator sells the trip as a cruise-and-zoo package: 490 CZK one way or 590 CZK return for an adult, 360 or 400 CZK for a child aged 3–14. No 2027 dates had been published when we checked, so between late October and spring, use the bus.

Plan around the short winter day

With last weekday entry at 15:30 and closing at 16:00 from November to February, arrive by late morning so the early gate closures do not cut your visit short. If the weather turns, the National Museum makes an indoor alternative. For holiday-week planning across the city, see our Christmas and New Year opening hours guide.
