Where you are actually going
Bonifacio Global City is a planned district within Taguig City, developed by Ayala Land and described as around three kilometres from Makati City. It is a grid of wide streets and modern towers rather than a single address, so "BGC" on its own is not enough for a driver.
Have the specific building, street and nearest corner written down. The district's streets are named and numbered logically once you are inside it, but a driver arriving from the airport benefits from a map pin rather than a district name.
The door-to-door options
At the airport, the taxi lanes are formalised into distinct services with their own stands at each terminal: coupon taxis charging a fixed rate by destination prescribed by the transport franchising board, yellow metered airport taxis, and regular metered taxis. Staff hand you a dispatch slip when you take an accredited taxi, and the operator's instruction is to keep it rather than give it to the driver.
App rides work from the centralised transport network vehicle service hub inside the Terminal 3 multi-level car park, which has dedicated lanes, loading bays and walk-up booking lounges for travellers who are not online yet. Grab lists several products at the airport, including an advance booking option and a fixed-fare airport service.
For a first arrival with luggage, a booked ride with a set price is the least demanding choice.
The cheaper route
The airport's published point-to-point bus services run to set destinations rather than into BGC directly. Among them is One Ayala in Makati, which puts you within a short local ride of the district.
That two-stage approach costs meaningfully less than a single door-to-door ride and works well if you are travelling light. With heavy luggage, changing vehicles mid-journey is less appealing, and the saving is smaller than the inconvenience.
Bus schedules and fares are published by the operators themselves rather than by the airport, so check the operator before relying on a bus for a time-sensitive arrival.
When you arrive matters more than how
This journey crosses part of the metro area on roads that carry heavy commuter traffic. The same trip can be comfortable at mid-morning and slow in the late afternoon or early evening peak.
Two practical consequences. Do not schedule anything tightly on arrival day. And when you make the return journey to the airport at the end of your trip, treat it as longer than the one you experienced arriving, particularly if your flight is in the evening.
Before you leave the terminal
Get pesos, in small notes, whether or not you plan to pay by app. Confirm your building and street rather than only the district. And use the marked stands or the ride-hailing hub rather than accepting an approach inside the terminal, which is the arrangement the airport's accreditation system is built around.
Once you are there
BGC is one of the most walkable districts in the metro area, which is a genuine relief after an airport transfer. Wide pavements, a compact grid and shade in places mean that once you have dropped your bags, you can reach food, a supermarket and a pharmacy on foot rather than booking another ride.
That walkability is also worth factoring into where you book. In a metro area where journeys are governed by traffic, staying somewhere you can walk within is worth more than it would be in a smaller city.
