Ticket prices

Yıldız Palace is run by the National Palaces Administration (Milli Saraylar), like Topkapı and Dolmabahçe. Its location page listed these prices on 3 November 2026:

Visitor Price
Foreign visitor 900 TL
Turkish visitor 175 TL
Reduced 60 TL
Children aged 0–6 Free

At the Central Bank's indicative selling rate for 2 November 2026 (€1 = 55.996 TL), 900 TL is about €16. That makes Yıldız the cheapest of the big National Palaces sites for a foreign visitor: Dolmabahçe costs 2,000 TL and Topkapı's combined ticket 2,750 TL on the same administration's pages.

Students. The page gives the reduced price to students aged 7–25 with a student ID and says foreign students pay twice the reduced price. That works out at 120 TL; the page does not print the figure, so confirm it at the window. Foreign students aged 12–25 must show a physical ISIC card.

Residents with a Müzekart. The card is valid at Yıldız except in the Harem, Hasbahçe and Küçük Mabeyn sections, according to the page.

Single ticket or Kombine Bilet II?

The National Palaces sell three combined tickets. The Dolmabahçe page sets out what each covers for foreign visitors:

Ticket Covers Price
Kombine Bilet I (full pass) Dolmabahçe plus the palaces, kiosks and pavilions on both sides of the Bosphorus 3,500 TL
Kombine Bilet II Dolmabahçe, Yıldız and the European-side palaces, kiosks and pavilions 2,750 TL
Kombine Bilet III Dolmabahçe and the Asian-side palaces, kiosks and pavilions 2,750 TL

All three exclude Topkapı Palace and the Küçüksu picnic area, are valid for one month from purchase, and let you enter each venue only once.

The arithmetic for the two Beşiktaş palaces is simple:

  • Dolmabahçe single ticket 2,000 TL + Yıldız 900 TL = 2,900 TL.
  • Kombine Bilet II = 2,750 TL, so you save 150 TL and can add other European-side sites at no extra cost.
  • Yıldız alone: buy the 900 TL single ticket. A combined ticket only pays if Dolmabahçe is in your plan.

The one-month validity means you do not have to fit both palaces into one day. Dolmabahçe's own prices and rules are in our Dolmabahçe Palace tickets guide.

Opening hours and closed days

The page gives a single timetable:

  • Ticket office 09:00 to 17:00.
  • The site header shows "09 00 17 30", which suggests visitors may stay until about 17:30, but no closing time for the palace itself is printed.
  • Closed every Wednesday.

Yıldız also closes on 1 January and on the first day of Ramazan Bayramı and of Kurban Bayramı. It is open on the other listed holidays, including 29 October, Ramazan Bayramı days 2–3 and Kurban Bayramı days 2–4.

What you are visiting

Yıldız was the seat of government under Abdülhamid II, who ruled from this palace for 33 years (1876–1909), according to the National Palaces page. The complex had three parts: the palace buildings used for state business, the sultan's private quarters and harem, and an outer garden that is now Yıldız Park. Of the pavilions in that outer garden, only the Çadır, Malta and Şale kiosks survive. The page also mentions a theatre, a museum, a library and a porcelain factory built under Abdülhamid II.

The page does not say which rooms are on the visitor route on a given day. If a particular building is the reason for your trip, ask at the ticket office before paying.

The address on the page is Yıldız Sarayı Müzesi, Yıldız, 34349 Beşiktaş. The page gives no directions, so check the route to the gate on a map before you set off.
