Albertina ticket prices
The Albertina runs three sites under one ticket system. The admission page in its online shop lists these full prices:
| Ticket | Price | Covers |
|---|---|---|
| Albertina | €19.90 | The main museum on Albertinaplatz |
| Albertina Modern | €15.90 | Exhibition halls on the ground and basement floors |
| Albertina Klosterneuburg | €9 | The outpost in Klosterneuburg |
| Combined ticket | €24.90 | One entry to each of the three sites |
The combined ticket costs €5 more than the main museum alone and saves €10.90 against buying the Albertina and Albertina Modern separately. Buy it if you plan to see both Vienna sites; the three entries can be used on different days within the year.
Who gets a reduced ticket
The shop says seniors, children under 19, young adults aged 19 to 26 and visitors with disabilities must show valid ID with a reduced ticket. Reductions for other groups, including Vienna City Card holders, ICOM members and Kulturpass holders, are sold only at the ticket desk in the museum.
The shop page we read did not show the reduced amounts, so we have not printed one. Under-19s are a reduced category here, not free, which is a real difference from the Kunsthistorisches Museum, where they enter without a ticket.
No time slot, but still buy ahead
Albertina tickets are valid during regular opening hours for one entry to the whole museum, and remain valid for one year from purchase. You can show the ticket on your phone or printed at home. The shop does not mention a time slot and does not state a refund policy.
Buying in advance skips the ticket desk, not necessarily the door. The shop warns there can be waiting times outside the building even with an online ticket.

Opening hours and holidays
The opening-hours page gives:
- Albertina: daily 10:00–18:00; Wednesday and Friday 10:00–21:00.
- Albertina Modern: daily 10:00–18:00.
- Albertina Klosterneuburg: Thursday to Sunday 10:00–17:00, until 15 November.
The same page lists holiday hours without stating a year; the weekdays shown match 2026–27:
| Date | Albertina | Albertina Modern |
|---|---|---|
| Thu 24 December | 10:00–14:00 | 10:00–14:00 |
| Fri 25 December | 10:00–21:00 | 10:00–18:00 |
| Sat 26 December | 10:00–18:00 | 10:00–18:00 |
| Thu 31 December | 10:00–18:00 | 10:00–18:00 |
| Fri 1 January | 10:00–21:00 | 10:00–18:00 |
No full closing day is listed for these dates. Christmas Day and New Year's Day fall on a Friday, so the main museum keeps its late opening.
Getting to the Albertina
The main museum is on Albertinaplatz in the Hofburg, by the State Opera; the nearest tram stop is Kärntner Ring/Oper. The museum's German-language visitor brochure gives these routes; it carries no date and its ticket prices are out of date, so we use it for directions only:
- U-Bahn: U1, U2 or U4 to Karlsplatz/Oper, or U3 to Stephansplatz.
- Tram: 1, 2, D, 62, 71 or the Badner Bahn to Kärntner Ring/Oper.
- Bus: City bus 2A to the Albertina stop.
Albertina Modern is in the former Künstlerhaus near Karlsplatz; the museum says the two Vienna sites are about 10 minutes apart on foot. The whole 1st district is a paid short-stay parking zone, so public transport is the simpler choice. Tickets and passes are explained in our Vienna public transport guide.
