What happened to the Imperial Tour and Grand Tour?
Schönbrunn's ticket overview now lists a Palace Ticket and a State Apartments ticket. The old Grand Tour web address opens the Palace Ticket page, which covers all the rooms on the piano nobile in about 75 minutes. That includes Franz Joseph's and Elisabeth's private rooms, the state rooms and Maria Theresa's apartments.
The State Apartments ticket covers a selection of rooms in about 40 minutes. If you have seen "Imperial Tour" in an older guide, this shorter route is the nearest equivalent. Both prices include an audio guide or a printed description, depending on availability.

Which one to buy
Palace Ticket if Schönbrunn is your main imperial palace. The extra 35 minutes take you through Maria Theresa's rooms, and the €12 difference is small next to the time it takes to get out to Schönbrunn.
State Apartments for families with younger children or a tight morning. Two adults and two children aged 8 and 12 pay €100, against €144 for the Palace Ticket.
Sisi Pass only if you will also visit the Hofburg. It costs €18 more than the Palace Ticket and adds one visit each to the Sisi Museum with the Imperial Apartments and the Vienna Furniture Museum, usable within a year. The Sisi Museum day ticket alone costs €15 until 18 November 2026, a reduced rate during its refurbishment. See our Sisi Museum and Imperial Apartments guide for the reopening on 19 November.
How time slots and booking work
The Schönbrunn ticket page says real palace tickets are sold online only at imperialtickets.com, and warns about fake ticket sites. Palace tickets carry fixed admission times. The official Sisi Pass page shows the slots in 15-minute windows (for example 14:45–15:00) and states that if you are late, your palace ticket expires. Some dates show no free slots, so book as soon as your day is fixed.
The ticket is valid for one admission on the day you choose, so plan to be at the entrance at the start of your window, not the end.
